Thank you again for being part of our LitArts RI Rhody Readathon, we are so very grateful for your support! Here is some information that you might find helpful.

I just signed up as a Rhody Reader! What's next?
After registering, your next step is to reach out to your friends and family members to share your personal Fundraising Page! Ask them to support the Readathon by either pledging an amount per book that you will read or just making a one-time donation (both options are available when they click on the “Pledge” button on your page).
What language can I use to describe LitArts RI to my supporters?
LitArts RI means so many things to so many people, and your own words will always be the most powerful when describing why you are supporting the Readathon! But here is a bit of general wording about our mission, activities, and need for support that you might find helpful in reaching out to your friends and family:
Since opening in 2018, LitArts RI has become a centralized hub for the Rhode Island literary community, serving 500+ creatives. LitArts RI supports Rhode Island writers through community events, workshops, and shared creative workspace. Our mission is to build Rhode Island’s arts community by supporting the state’s creative writers and enriching the lives of readers.
What else might donors want to know about LitArts RI?
Here is some additional info that might be helpful in contextualizing our fundraising.
Many of LitArts RI’s resources and opportunities are offered at low or no-cost; when we do charge for an event, in order to pay our teaching artists, we always have a portion of seats set aside at either reduced or no-cost for those who cannot afford to attend otherwise.
We have been fortunate to receive grant funding for some of our offerings and initiatives, however right now funding for nonprofit arts organizations is under attack, and major sources have been frozen altogether or are severely restricting the activities that they will fund. Since we have worked diligently to make our offerings accessible to as many people as possible, no matter their identity, income level, background, etc., our ability to provide our services and opportunities to a wide range of writers will be severely affected by cuts to funding that previously supported diverse representation within the arts. Our need for support from our community is newly critical at this juncture.
You might also refer friends and family to our website, where they can see the breadth of the resources and opportunities that LitArts RI makes available to the creative writers and readers of Rhode Island.
How do donations work?
From your personal Fundraising Page, supporters can click on the "Pledge" button to make a donation. They will receive notification of receipt of their pledge or donation along with our heartfelt thanks for their support!
If your supporters make make a pledge-per-book donation, we will contact them with an invoice for their total owed at the end of the Readathon – which is calculated by the number of books you read times the amount they pledged per book.
Supporters may also donate a set amount through your "Pledge" button at any time.
Can I personalize my Rhody Reader page?

Yes! Now is the time to really make your Fundraising Page your own, by adding some text about the books you are planning to read, why you’ve chosen them, why you love reading, or why LitArts RI is important to you - whatever makes your page feel like you!
To personalize your page, sign into your account and navigate to your Fundraising Page, then just click into the text under the “Rhody Reader” tab - for example, near the “Support the mission of LitArts RI” text. Once you click here, this whole area turns into a text box which you can then edit, adding whatever text or images you’d like.
Can I change the image on my Rhody Reader page?
To switch out the image that appear at the upper right for an image of your own, click the “Change Image” button that appears over the default image on your page, and substitute your own image.
You can also add photos within the body of the page itself, by clicking into the text box under the "Rhody Reader" tab (see above).
